Sirw Animal production research station was established in 1938 under the name of Sirw animal breeding station. the activity of the station was, then, restricted for only cow breeding. by the beginning of sixties of the last century the number of animal breeding branches increased, and the overall activities increased with the successive efficient directors.
Sirw station is one of the important stations responsible for solving the problems of animal and poultry production in Egypt. It has good relationships weth animal breeders at Dakahlia, Domyat, Port Said and Sharkia governorates. five research branches are working in the station: cow breeding, sheep breeding, poultry breeding, dairy products and aquatic bird breeding.
