An Approach to Automatic KBS Construction from Reusable Domain Specific Components

Abstract: The demand for high quality, large scale knowledge based systems has increased to the point where great improvements in knowledge engineering technology are needed. Library based approach for knowledge reuse is one of the widely exploited approaches, but there are two obstacles to this approach: the indexing problem, and the configuration problem. The real cause of these problems is the high level of abstraction employed to the library components. In this paper, we propose an approach to overcome these problems by building domain-specific knowledge components libraries, and automating the process of building knowledge based systems.
